Norma Kamali Leopard Print Dress

Finally got my dress from Walmart. Love the weight of the fabric, sewn well, just did not like the fact that the inner seams were not surged, which I will have to do myself. I just don’t won’t the seams unraveling after I’ve cold water washed it a few times. But, other then that – this dress was worth every dime.

  2. Oh hell yes!! Thats how a diva does it. I knew you would rock this the right way! That picture of their model is horrible!

  3. woman on the prowl :)
    very hot look !

  4. It looks really high quality on you! Congratulations on the great buy!

  5. Thank you ladies, appreciate the feedback.

malika – I already “re-caught” me somebody with this dress last night. ;-)

  6. Got here from Kasmira’s blog and I have to say wow. I have one of my personal fashion rules, no animal prints. But you’re making me rethink that.

  7. okay. i’ll admit i had doubts about the dress when you first posted it but whew, those doubts are out the window. you’re rockin it! especially with the capelet.. it looks soooo good.

  8. Wow, what a beautiful dress–you look amazing in it!

It looks like a versatile piece too for both day and night!

  9. i just stumbled on your blog and it’s amazing! i feel very inspired. i’m barely 5′1 if i stand up reaalllly straight, and sometimes feel discouraged about finding clothes that fit and don’t cost a fortune. do you alter your own clothes? they all look like they were custom-made to fit!

  10. mbbored – thanks for stopping by. I felt the same way about animal prints until I found a beautiful chiffon animal print dress in ‘06 at Dillards. I decided to take a chance and after that, I started re-evaluting animal prints. Now I love them!!

rm and mia – thank you so much!

sm – thanks you! I wish I could afford to alter my clothes. I have to do the work myself and there are so many things I haven’t posted because I have to make the alterations myself. I might pay a professional if the item is really nice and may be too much work for me. Other then that I try to alter my own stuff, especially my tops – which are always too long.

  11. That dress with the belt and black jacket is gorgeous on you! With the belt, jacket, shoes and jewelry it looks like a very chic and very expensive outfit!

  12. Hello there! I’ve been reading your blog for a few months, and this is my first comment! Your style and financial skills are definitely an inspiration. Who knew you could find something like this at Walmart? Going on a grocery run tonight and I’m gonna look for it. Anyway, love your blog!

  13. @ Hi Trace – I’m not sure that Kamali is in alot of their retail stores. I heard a few people say that they could not find the line in their local walmart. Let me know if you do though.

@ Liza – thank you. I got the capelet at sears, the belt is thrifted and the shoes are from Off Broadway.

  14. Fabulous! Love it with the cropped black jacket and belt. Bravo!

  15. Like someone said above, the model did nothing for the dress. I wasn’t impressed, but you have worked it! Accessories and confidence make a huge difference!

  16. ALWAYS on point!!!!!!!

Do you have a detailed photo of the necklace on the right. LOVES IT!!!!

  17. What a great dress! You look fabulous – I am green with envy.

  18. You look SO MUCH better than the model!!

  19. very chic!

  27. Okay, you’re not taking any prisoner with this one. You can incredible style. Absolutely loving the leopard print dress!

  28. oh.my.god. you look amazing. by the time i went to order stuff from this line, they were sold out of most of the good stuff in my size. seeing this makes me want to order a dress, i’ll wait til they restock!

  29. I know this is becoming cliche, but girl you are FIERCE!

  30. Thank you ladies for all the positive feedback!! :-D

  31. Forgot to tell you, I checked this dress out in my Walmart store, it won’t unravel, knits usually don’t, you’ll be able to get alot of use and longevity out of it, it seems to be made well. Rock It!

  32. I thought about that as well, the knit is heavy but I was little paranoid. There is some finishes of the seams but not the ones along the skirt line. So…..we’ll see

  33. You look great! I love the dress. I want to get my own now. :D

I recently stumbled upon a site called SaleStash.com. You should check it out. I found a ton of designer pieces on sale. I know you’ll love it too! ;)

  34. Stunning outfit! I love the dress with the cape detail.

  35. I was in Walmart the other day and purposely went looking for this line.

This dress is really nice up close too! It had weight to it.

One thing I noticed about this line and correct me if I’m wrong, if you go past size Large in the tops, the design logos are left off. I wanted the shirt with the tree on the front in XL and they stopped the logo at L :(

The quality of the fabrics were really nicely made. I thought of you when I saw the designers section in the store!
