Once I got home and tired it on with everything, I knew I made the right choice. I saw two girls pick up the same color, so I think the creme will be the quick seller.

I went down to Steve & Barry’s today. Everything in the entire store was $8.98. So I picked up this SJP Bitten Dress for $9 bucks. This dress is so feminine and girly. Its a great piece for summer. The pleating on the bottom give this dress a very soft and delicate feel. I got one for myself and my niece. It also came in black, I was very tempted to buy the black, but I have sooo many black dresses I just had to force myself to get this color.

I love the pleating on the bottom of the dress.
And what a bargain…
Very pretty. I just discovered Bitten. I got a pair of $10 jeans and they are my absolute favorite pair! I’m going to go to steve & barry’s tomorrow to see what else they got.
Steve and Barry’s is great!! I’m glad we have a store out here. When SJP first release her Bitten line I was freakin out because I thought we didn’t have a store in our area and I would miss out on buying her stuff. But someone replied to my post that we did have a store in my city, so I was like “yeah baby” time to go shopping!
The dress is adorable!
Sadly anytime I visit an S&B I hardly ever find anything in either my size or really cute! I am currently on a jean kick and need to go and try on the Bitten jeans and see if I like them, because for the price you can’t go wrong!
$8.98 is enough to move anybody to buy. I didn’t think about trying her jeans, might have to go back there some time this week.
Here’s my feedback on this one: it hides your figure. Is it possible to take it in around the waist? You’ve got a gorgeous body and this outfit doesn’t show that off at all. However, it’s a perfect dress for a BBQ when it’s hotter than blue blazes outside.
Yeah, I thought about that. It was hard to take a picture of this dress because it really very flowly and it does cling somewhat to the body. It actually very pretty and more dressy than casual because of the fabric.
I was thinking of using a lace obi belt that cinches in the waist more. The ribbon sits up a little “high” for more of an “empire cut” that might not be so flattering on me. So I’m going to look for a semi-wide, wrap type belt for this dress. Thank you Anne, I was thinking the same thing!
Hello,
I love your blog. I have to go to the States to do some hard-core shopping!
I also think this outfit is gorgeous but doesn’t suit your very nice figure. Maybe that lace obi belt would help. I read you don’t like layering, but I think it would look somewhat better with a short sleeve cardigan or something like that.
Yeah my arms look kinda big in those pictures. I lost a lot of weight but I still have excess skin on my arms and I carry my weight in my back, arms, bust line and waist. Those are my problem spots, so perhaps a small bolero type cardigan would do the trick
I bought this very same dress! It’s adorable, especially with the ribbon and the pleating at the bottom. I hope to wear it to a wedding this summer.
Love your blog!!
Its a really cute dress, I just need to style it a little differently.
Hi, first off – love the blog.
Now my critique of the outfit. I agree with the comments above that it’s a lovely dress but it does your lovely figure no favors. As suggested, this is easily fixed with a bolero or wider belt. As for accessories – good shoes and handbag but the necklace is lost. Perhaps forgo the bauble and team the outfit with a cuff or some bracelet to show of your slender wrists.
Cheers
I seen this dress @ steve and barrys last night , I was tempted to buy it however I have a wide waist but with the right undergarments it would probably work for me
They also had it in black. It might work out for you, just got to be sure to style it for your body type. I’m working on finding just the right belt for this look.
